What is the NAIC code and the Florida Company Code for American Traditions?

The NAIC code is 12359. The Florida Company code is 03670.

Will my home be inspected after I buy a new policy?

In most cases, yes. The company may send an inspector to your home about 2 to 6 weeks after the policy is purchased. The inspector typically measures and photographs the exterior of the home and will not attempt to enter gated or locked areas.

What is a 4-point inspection?

A 4-point inspection reviews the four main systems of a home: roof, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC. It may be required to determine whether the home is eligible for coverage. Your agent can help you find an inspector in your area.

What is a wind mitigation inspection?

A wind mitigation inspection checks for construction features that may help reduce wind damage to your home. In Florida, those features may qualify you for insurance discounts or credits. Your agent can help you decide whether a wind mitigation inspection makes sense for your home.

What is a self-guided inspection?

Self-guided inspections allow policyholders to conduct real-time assessments of their property through their mobile phone, tablet or PC. These digital inspection tools are provided as a convenient and secure option to replace the physical exterior inspections we currently conduct. Please note that we require property inspections as a condition of your insurance policy with us.

You will be contacted via text or email if your home is selected for a self-guided inspection. This assessment will take approximately 30 minutes, and you will typically have 15 days for a new policy and 30 days for a renewal policy to complete it. We currently partner with Chrp and ASAP for self-guided inspections.

If you are unable to complete the self-assessment in the provided timeframe, it may be automatically converted to an in-person inspection with no action needed by the policyholder.

What is a deductible?

A deductible is the amount you pay out of pocket before your insurance coverage applies to a covered loss. In Florida, many homeowners policies include two deductibles: a hurricane deductible and an all other perils (AOP) deductible. Some policies may also include other separate deductibles, such as one for sinkhole damage.

Does my homeowners policy cover flood damage?

No. Flood damage is not included in a standard homeowners policy. Flood insurance must be purchased separately. Flood coverage is available through American Traditions, and your agent can provide various options.

What is the difference between actual cash value and replacement cost?

Actual cash value (ACV) is the cost to replace property minus depreciation for age or wear. Replacement cost is the cost to repair or replace the item at today’s prices, up to the policy terms, without subtracting depreciation in the same way.

What is ordinance or law coverage?

Ordinance or law coverage helps pay to rebuild or repair a home so it complies with current building codes after a covered loss. The standard option listed is 10% of Coverage A, with higher limits of 25% and 50% also available. Your agent can help determine the right option for your home.

Can I exclude wind from my policy?

Wind excluded policies may be available depending on eligibility. Contact your agent to review your options. If you are currently insured with us and have wind coverage, a new policy excluding wind will be required.

Should I increase my homeowners coverage after remodeling or updating my home?

Possibly. If you make improvements or additions to your home, contact your agent to review your coverage. Updates to the home may mean you need more coverage, and some improvements could also qualify for discounts or credits.

What is the Roof Surfaces Payment Schedule (RSPS)?

This optional endorsement may provide policyholders with a discount of 9.5% up to 15% on their insurance premium depending on the age and material of your roof system. Older roofs can sometimes be uninsurable in the traditional market and this endorsement permits carriers to offer reduced coverage based on the age and material of your roof system. The endorsement only applies to roof losses from windstorm or hail (including hurricane).

The associated deductible (AOP or HUR) would apply to any covered loss.

Solid company that’s actually willing to work with their customers. It's hard to find good insurance out there, thanks for being one of the good ones, American Traditions!

They were great. We had a claim from a major hail storm here in Florida, after the work was done I sent all the before and after pictures. We were very happy with our settlement payment.

Over the last few months myself and other agents in our office have received AMAZING feedback from our clients we’ve placed with you.
